We started Barebottom Farms way back in 1995. After much consideration, amid somewhat declining health, coupled with the desire to move to a warmer clime, we made the difficult decision to close the business. We sold off all our stock in 2009 and had some of our pen structures dismantled. Lucy and the sheep found a new home, and I understand that everyone, including Widdle, our bottle-baby, is very happy with the new arrangement.
We are going raise some chickens for our own food, but we will no longer have any birds or eggs available for sale. To our customers who helped make Barebottom Farms a success, we thank you so much for your past patronage.
Well gang, like the man said - The party’s over. We will be moving to new digs within the next few months. I will keep this site up until I figure out what to do with it. Thank you so much for stopping by.
Now, just because we have sold Barebottom Farms as a business, in spirit it remains, and will remain with us forever. The animals that have come and gone will stay in those secret places of our hearts. Though the bird pages have been taken down, we have maintained those pages which embody the spirit of the farm. Too see those babies, present and past, please feel free to peruse those pictures.
Finally, we have gotten involved in a business selling Watkins Products with the Summit Group, the largest organization of independent Watkins Associates. We invite you to take a look at the business to determine if it might work for you. Watkins products are, beyond a reasonable doubt, some of the best available, and the Summit Group, founded by Steve and Ginny Bretzke, provides as much support as can be expected. Take a gander. With an open mind, you might be pleasantly surprised.
