We started Barebottom Farms way back in 1995. After much consideration, amid somewhat declining health, coupled with the desire to move to a warmer clime, we made the difficult decision to close the business. We sold off all our stock in 2009 and had some of our pen structures dismantled. Lucy and the sheep found a new home, and I understand that everyone, including Widdle, our bottle-baby, is very happy with the new arrangement.
We are going raise some chickens for our own food, but we will no longer have any birds or eggs available for sale. To our customers who helped make Barebottom Farms a success, we thank you so much for your past patronage.
Well gang, like the man said - The party’s over. We have since moved to the Rio Grande Valley in lower Texas. While it is more humid than Dallas, we live about an hour from South Padre with its amazing fishing and a number of restaurants, some of which are outstanding. A particular standout for us is Dirty Al’s at Pelican Station in Port Isabel. Amazing food, reasonable prices and great service. As to that Dallas weather...puleeze. You guys can keep it.
